AI Capability SeriesAI Team Leader
Turn individual AI use into stronger team performance.
Build the capability to shape how a team works with AI – setting direction, building confidence, spreading good practice and establishing clear standards for responsible, high-quality performance.
AI capability varies across a team. Some team members experiment early and find useful ways to improve their work. Others remain cautious, inconsistent or unclear about what good AI use looks like.
The manager’s role is to bring greater coherence to that picture. This means creating shared expectations, encouraging useful experimentation, spreading what works and making quality, judgment and responsible use part of normal team practice.
AI Team Leader equips managers to turn uneven AI use into shared team practices, clearer standards and stronger performance.
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
Define what effective AI use should look like for the team and connect it to the work that matters.
Model practical AI use openly, share what works and what does not, and make experimentation part of normal team practice.
Recognise why some team members hesitate or disengage, then provide the support, tools and guidance needed to move forward.
Turn individual successes into team-wide approaches that can be repeated, improved and extended.
Create team agents and workflows that improve how work gets done while keeping human judgment in the right places.
Set expectations around data, checking, sign-off and appropriate use.
Define what good AI-enabled work looks like, including how outputs are reviewed, challenged and reflected in performance expectations.
Explore key areas involved in leading a team to work and perform effectively with AI.
The experience combines structured preparation, two days of in-person learning, workplace application and follow-up support.
AI Team Leader is designed for people leaders who already use AI themselves and now need to guide how it is adopted, applied and governed across the team.
Create clear expectations for how AI supports quality, productivity and decision-making.
Examples: Team Leads, Supervisors and Department Managers.
Help teams use AI more effectively across high-volume or repeatable activities.
Examples: Sales, Customer Service, Operations and Finance Managers.
Guide teams that are already experimenting with AI, while supporting those who are less confident or less engaged.
Examples: Technology and Engineering Managers, HR Managers and L&D Managers.
Participants should already be comfortable using AI in their own work and be leading, or preparing to lead, an intact team. Coding or specialist technical expertise is not required.
The course focuses on how useful AI habits spread across a team, where they stall and what leaders can do to create greater consistency.
Participants rehearse the conversations, decisions and interventions needed to build confidence and address hesitation.
Individual successes are translated into approaches the wider team can adopt, adapt and improve.
Participants build a shared team agent and workflow, linking practical AI use directly to team performance.
Quality, responsible use and performance expectations are considered as part of the same team operating environment.
The Ask Me Anything session creates space to review what happened once the approaches were tested with the team.

Typical participants include Team Leads, Supervisors, Department Managers, Sales and Customer Service Managers, Operations and Finance Managers, Technology and Engineering Managers, and HR or L&D Managers.
Participants should already be comfortable using AI themselves, at around the level developed in AI User: Reinventing Your Work and Impact.
The course assumes familiarity with everyday AI tools so the focus can shift from individual use to leading a team.
No coding or specialist technical background is required.
Participants build a shared team agent and workflow using accessible tools, while the main focus remains on leadership, team practices and performance.
The experience includes approximately three hours of pre-work, a two-day in-person workshop, a short post-course assessment, workplace application and a virtual Ask Me Anything session approximately two weeks later.
Participants work on the realities of their own team: mapping current AI use, identifying where confidence or capability varies, practising coaching conversations, setting guardrails and defining standards for AI-enabled work.
The workshop also includes hands-on work to build and test a shared team agent and workflow.
That is a common starting point. The course looks at how leaders can make useful practices more visible, spread what works and support team members who are less confident or less engaged.
The aim is greater consistency across the team without expecting everyone to work with AI in exactly the same way.
The course helps leaders bring greater structure to existing AI use by setting expectations around quality, responsible use, checking, approval and performance.
It also provides ways to turn isolated individual practices into approaches the wider team can understand and adopt.
The course connects AI use to the way the team operates: how good practices are shared, how work quality is checked, how recurring activities can be improved and how performance expectations are set.
This helps managers move from isolated productivity gains toward more consistent team-wide performance.
Yes. Participants build a shared team agent and workflow during the course.
The emphasis is on how these tools support the team’s work, where human judgment should remain and what standards are needed for reliable use.
AI User develops the capability to use AI effectively in individual work.
AI Team Leader builds on that foundation by focusing on collective performance: shared practices, team confidence, workflows, guardrails and standards for AI-enabled work.
General AI training often focuses on how individuals use AI tools.
AI Team Leader focuses on the manager’s responsibility for the team – shaping how AI is used, building confidence, spreading useful practices and setting standards for responsible performance.
Participants leave with practical approaches and outputs that may include:
