Overview

Change is an inevitable force in business today, yet many individuals still naturally resist it. Ironically, this resistance to change is magnified by poorly orchestrated change management. Often, leaders implement change in a top-down, command-and-control fashion with limited regard to employee fears, insecurities, and habits. In contrast, effective change leaders begin with empathy, guiding the process in a way that ensures employees feel heard, respected, and understood.

Leading and Managing Change is a two-day training course by Korn Ferry Academy designed for aspiring leaders, managers, and entrepreneurs eager to build their capabilities in this area.

Led by an expert in change management, the course delves into the psychology behind resistance to change. You’ll gain valuable insights into why people often hesitate to embrace new directions – and learn strategies to convert that resistance into trust and enthusiasm.

In this training course, you’ll learn change management strategies that align your team’s needs with your organisation’s vision, expand your leadership toolkit through collaboration with peers and gain the skills to inspire lasting change. By the end, you’ll be a confident, adaptable leader, ready to navigate uncertainty and drive your team toward success.

Learning Outcomes

Our Leading and Managing Change course will equip you with the skills to:
  • Leverage the Change Curve Model: Gain a deeper understanding of the emotional responses and fears that accompany change, enabling you to navigate these complexities effectively.
  • Cultivate Empathy: Empathise with those resistant to change and design tailored strategies to foster trust and engagement.
  • Conduct Stakeholder Analysis: Assess the specific support needs of each stakeholder to ensure their commitment to the change initiative.
  • Identify the Forces Supporting and Resisting Your Change: Conduct a forcefield analysis to identify the forces that will get in the way of your change and how to navigate them.
  • Craft and Execute a Change Management Plan: Learn how to use Kotter’s 8-step model that encompasses communicating your vision, engaging stakeholders and addressing resistance.
  • Customise Your Influence Strategies: Adapt your approach to effectively shift different stakeholder groups from resistance or neutrality to enthusiastic support for change.
  • Communicate Change Effectively: Craft and deliver effective change communication that creates urgency, clarity and confidence in the change agenda.
