Influence is one of the most powerful levers of leadership. The ability to shape decisions, build trust, and win support often separates managers who deliver on tasks from leaders who set direction and move organisations forward.
Mastering the Art of Influence for Stakeholder Management is a two-day, in-person course designed to help professionals nurture trust-based relationships in the workplace. Backed by Korn Ferry’s decades of research into leadership effectiveness, the course equips you with tools and techniques to strengthen credibility, manage resistance, and adapt your approach to diverse stakeholders.
During the course, you will examine the role of power in organisational dynamics, identify your natural influencing style, and practise adapting it to different scenarios. Practical role-plays and peer feedback sessions ensure that you apply concepts directly to situations you face, whether managing upward, aligning peers, or guiding teams through change.
By the end, you will be equipped to influence with confidence, able to secure stakeholder buy-in, navigate difficult conversations, and build alignment that drives momentum for both projects and long-term organisational goals.

“The framework for influence introduced through the ‘Guiding Principles’ and the ‘5Cs of Influential Conversations’ was especially key. These provided clear, actionable strategies for building influence and achieving results in professional interactions. The facilitator’s use of role-plays and situational scenarios made the concepts engaging and easy to apply.”
“The facilitator was outstanding — energetic, clear, and engaging. She brought the content to life with real-world anecdotes and excellent storytelling that made complex ideas easy to understand and remember. It was an inspiring and effective session overall.”
“I appreciated learning how influence actually works in practice, especially the breakdown of the six power bases. It reminded me that influence isn’t about title or rewards alone. What resonated most was the idea of balancing being task-driven (getting things done) with being relationship-driven (getting people on board for the journey).”
“Learning about organisational currencies and how they can be exchanged in the workplace was eye-opening. Mastering these currencies can help build meaningful relationships, achieve goals, and navigate complex workplace dynamics more effectively.”
“Understanding the different influencing styles and power dynamics gave me practical tools I can apply in my daily work. The facilitator demonstrated deep expertise and kept the session engaging through multiple role-play exercises that made learning enjoyable.”
This course is designed for leaders, project managers, and professionals who need to align and engage diverse stakeholders without relying on formal authority. It is ideal for those leading change initiatives, working across multiple stakeholders, or operating in matrixed or cross-functional environments where success depends on trust, persuasion, and collaboration.
You will learn how to influence with integrity and strategic intent. The course introduces the six power bases of influence, adaptive influence styles, and trust-building frameworks that help you move stakeholders from compliance to commitment. You will explore how to build credibility, manage resistance, and sequence conversations that create genuine alignment. By the end of the course, you will be equipped with techniques to strengthen professional relationships, expand your network of influence, and lead outcomes through trust and collaboration.
There are no prerequisites. This course is open to professionals at all levels who want to build influence as a leadership and collaboration capability.
You will learn through a two-day workshop that is highly experiential and built on Korn Ferry’s Learning Design Framework. The course balances content, examples, context, and engagement. You will take part in self-assessments, interactive games, and guided case activities that reflect real stakeholder dynamics. The learning environment emphasises problem-based exploration, reflective coaching, and practical application to your workplace.
You will analyse your real stakeholder landscape, identify key players, and practise influence strategies through immersive simulations and peer coaching. Using the 5 Cs of influential conversations, you will rehearse real scenarios, refine your approach, and build a practical action plan for an upcoming high-stakes conversation. Each activity is designed to help you put concepts into practice and strengthen behaviours that foster sustainable alignment and shared ownership.
This course combines Korn Ferry’s global consulting expertise in leadership influence with hands-on learning that mirrors real-world complexity. Instead of focusing on persuasion tactics, you will design ethical, adaptive strategies that build trust, credibility, and long-term partnerships. Centred on real business challenges rather than theory, the course helps you influence not through power or position but through authenticity, insight, and purposeful communication.
