As a leader, building a high-performing team means more than meeting targets, it requires creating an environment where people can collaborate, innovate, and adapt to change. Korn Ferry’s global research shows that the teams who excel share three essentials: trust, motivation, and leadership that brings out the best in others.
Building High-Performing Teams is a two-day, in-person course designed for managers and aspiring leaders who want to apply these insights in practice. Through Korn Ferry’s proven frameworks, case studies, and experiential learning, you will explore the elements that distinguish great teams from the rest. You will learn how to foster psychological safety, strengthen collaboration, and encourage open communication, creativity, and calculated risk-taking.
Delivered by experienced facilitators, the course combines research-based content with peer learning and practical application. You will gain insights into what drives motivation and engagement, and discover how to leverage your leadership style to align personal ambitions with organisational objectives. The result is a roadmap for building teams that perform at their best, consistently and sustainably.

This course gave me a clear understanding of different leadership styles and the stages of team development. The insights on what makes teams high-performing are directly applicable to my current role.
The instructor was excellent, engaging throughout, and constantly checking how the content related to our work. This made it easy to see how to apply what we learned in practice.
The group exercises, such as block building and matching leadership styles, were the most valuable part of the course. These interactive activities helped me apply the concepts immediately and made the learning far more impactful than passive methods.
The Building High-Performing Teams course is ideal for managers and leaders who want to raise team engagement, accountability, and performance.
You’ll learn how to shift the behaviours that drive team performance, from creating psychological safety and aligning roles to using coaching micro-skills that unlock ownership. You’ll also learn to address conflict and underperformance while preserving trust.
There are no formal prerequisites. The course is most relevant for those leading intact or project teams.
You will learn through a highly experiential format that includes in-class games, short case studies, role plays, reflection exercises, and peer coaching.
You’ll conduct a Team Effectiveness Audit to identify areas for improvement and practise new behaviours through exercises, role plays, and peer interactions. Each topic is grounded in real business situations to help you translate learning into action.
This is not a lecture-based course. Learning happens through discovery using exercises, discussions, and team-based problem solving rather than slides or theory. The focus is on practical application, giving you personalised insights and concrete actions that lead to stronger engagement and accountability.
