Overview

With Millennials and Generation Z now making up nearly half of the workforce, expectations of leadership are changing. These younger professionals value leaders who act as coaches — creating opportunities for growth, offering constructive challenge, and encouraging contribution — rather than those who rely on directive management alone. For organisations, this makes coaching a critical capability for managers who want to build engagement and sustain high performance.

Coaching for Performance and Engagement is a one-day, in-person course designed for managers and leaders who want to embrace the role of a coach. The course introduces essential coaching skills that strengthen performance and cultivate a growth-oriented team culture, showing how coaching can increase motivation and productivity across multigenerational teams.

During the course, you will develop core techniques in active listening, questioning, and encouraging open, supportive dialogue. You will examine how these approaches can be applied in leadership conversations to support development, maintain accountability, and improve day-to-day team effectiveness.

Delivered by Korn Ferry Academy faculty with extensive coaching experience, the course combines research-based insight with practical application. By the end, you will be ready to apply a coaching approach that sharpens how you communicate, set expectations, and support employees to drive sustained engagement and performance.
